One of the biggest advantages of tablets is their affordability. They’re inexpensive to manufacture, making them one of the most economical options for consumers. They also allow for larger doses of vitamins and minerals in a single serving. 

However, some people have difficulty swallowing tablets. And they must fully disintegrate before the nutrients become available for absorption. Enteric-coated tablets, for example, are intentionally designed to resist stomach acid and dissolve later in the small intestine.

Capsule and Softgels

Capsules enclose powdered or granular ingredients within gelatin or plant-based shells, while softgels contain oils or liquid ingredients suspended inside a flexible gelatin capsule. 

Capsules typically dissolve more quickly than compressed tablets and often contain fewer binding agents.
